Based in Hong Kong for the last six years, I am currently in my ninth year with the Shangri-La Group and have solid executive management experience from operating a diverse range of properties; in style, size and service levels.
These properties include resorts in Singapore and the Philippines, lifestyle properties in the Maldives and Hong Kong, as well as two years+ at the group’s luxury flagship property; the Island Shangri-La Hong Kong.
Besides leading current day-to-day operations and strategic leadership of my 382 rooms city hotel, the JEN Hong Kong by Shangri-La, I headed and was involved in several operating model transformations, asset enhancements projects and the worldwide re-branding & culture development initiative of Shangri-La’s lifestyle hotel brand ‘JEN’.
My reporting lines have been / currently are directly to the respective property owner(s) and Shangri-La’s senior management team.
From both a professional and personal perspective, the time has come for me to move on, and I have recently started to explore long-term career growth opportunities in the country myself and my family regard as home; Thailand.
As Shangri-La has only two properties in Thailand, and given the group’s long-term General Manager assignments, I do not foresee any movement opportunities, within the group, in the near future.
My wife is of Thai nationality, as are both our two young daughters.
Combining my solid experience, areas of expertise and my previous 12 years+ hospitality experience in Thailand, a transition to Thailand would perfectly fit my long-term career aspirations; to continue and advance my career by leading a larger property and/or in a multiple property management (Dual GM) role.
